The Role

We have  opportunities for Electrical Engineers to join our team, focusing on Energy Infrastructure and Utility Services. These roles are ideal for candidates who are looking to grow their expertise while contributing to engineering and design support for both pre-contracts and active projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, scheduling and execution of PV and BESS projects, assisting in alignment with project objectives, timelines and budgets.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to define project scope, deliverables and resource requirements.
  • Assist in developing engineering studies and reports under the guidance of a Project Design Manager or Senior Engineer.
  • Utilise engineering software tools (such as ETAP, AutoCAD, etc.) to develop drawings, models and studies supporting design works.
  • Contribute to customer-focused project delivery, ensuring technical solutions align with client expectations.
  • Support the integration of multi-disciplinary aspects within electrical HV infrastructure design.
  • Assist in conducting power flow, fault protection and earthing studies within power system designs.
  • Provide technical input and knowledge-sharing for engineering decision-making processes.
  • Help maintain quality standards for engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Stay informed on new and emerging technologies in energy infrastructure, recommending solutions to enhance project outcomes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of design templates and engineering practices.
  • Demonstrate commitment to health, safety and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Skills and Experience

  • Circa 5 years of experience in the functions described above.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the design, technical aspects, construction, constructability of Electrical MV, HV, Solar and Energy Infrastructure.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety and environmental practices
  • Broad technical and engineering understanding of HV connection solutions, Power Systems and electrical networks knowledge.
  • The ability to develop concurrent solutions in complex decision environments
  • High level of written and oral communication ability, along with well-developed inter-personal and negotiating skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category.
  • Be on a path for registration as Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is preferable.
